The past from a new perspective

“Time is a very misleading thing. All there ever is, is the now. We can gain experience from the past, but we can't relive it; and we can hope for the future, but we don't know if there is one.”
-- George Harrison

The relationship my mom and I share is truley one-of-a-kind.  It hurts my heart to say this, but up until recently, our relationship was fairly labored.  On some level we both knew that we cared about each other deeply, but we just couldn't forgive and forget issues from the past.

The other night, mom and I were laying on my bed after having dinner.  She looked at me with tears in her eyes, and said, "Jo, I am just so happy because this is this kind of relationship I have always wanted to have with you.  I don't know why it had to take something so sad for us get along, but I now know that you love me."  Wow.  That's all I could think and feel.  Just wow.

So, as you go out your day, remember that you never know what the future my bring.  Don't take advantage of time...because sometimes, time runs out.
